INTERVIEW: Wayne Lost Soul

1. How the hell are you?

I AM REALLY GOOD THANKS, LOOKING FOWARD TO VISITING THE DOG AGAIN OF COURSE.

2. It'll be nice to get you back to the Dog again. How's you time out of the country been?

THIS YEAR IN EUROPE HAS BEEN AMAZING, THE SHOWS ARE PULLING MORE AND MORE PEOPLE. GERMANY HAS BEEN INCREDIBLE FOR ME, I HAVE EVEN MANAGED TO RECORD A NEW ALBUM FOR RELEASE NEXT YEAR.

3. Is there anything you miss about dear old blighty?

TO BE HONEST NO , NOT AT THE MOMENT I REALLY FELL OUT OF LOVE WITH THE UK THATS WHY I WENT TO LIVE IN EUROPE..BUT I AM HOPING THAT THE TIME I HAVE BEEN AWAY HAS HEALED SOME WOUNDS. ( OH I MISS THE DOG OF COURSE)

4. It's been about a year since your final gig with Kings of the Delmar. You still enjoying the solitary life on the road or has the itch to get some band mates returned?

ITS FUNNY I GET SO MANY EMAILS ASKING FOR JUST ONE LAST K.O.T.D TOUR OR RECORD BUT THE TIME IS NOT RIGHT FOR ME YET , BUT LAST WEEK I HEARD ONE OF OUR SONGS BEING PKLAYED IN GERMANY AND IT DID MAKE ME MISS IT...SO NEVER SAY NEVER.

5. Acoustic singer songwriters are popping up here there and everywhere. Is this just something that happens every few years or do you feel this is different - a reaction to something or other.

WELL AS YOU KNOW I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS ALONG TIME NOW AND HAVE NO PLANS TO STOP, BECAUSE I HAVE NO DESIRE TO BE THE NEXT FRANK TURNER WHICH FROM WHERE I STAND IS WHAT EVERY NEW ACOUSTIC SINGER /SONGWRITER SEEMS TO BE AIMING FOR EXCEPT FOR LOUISE DISTRAS WHOS MUSIC I REALLY LIKE AND SHE HAS A GREAT ATTITUDE. BUT ON THE WHOLE I THINK THERE ARE ALOT OF BANDWAGON JUMPERS WHICH IS A SHAME BECAUSE IF THERE WERE MORE TRUE PROTEST SINGERS LIKE ME MAYBE PEOPLE WOULD TAKE MORE NOTICE... BUT WHO AM I TO SAY? AT LEAST IF PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO WRITE SONGS AND NOT BEING X-FACTOR WANNA BE THEN IT CAN ONLY BE A GOOD THING... SORRY FOR THE RANT BUT YOU DID ASK.

Wayne returns to the Dog on Saturday November 17th along with Antibang and The Chymical Wedding Band

It'll soon be Christmas

Sorry. What a shitty post title.

IT'S FUCKING TRUE THOUGH!

Instead of singling out any one particular gig I've decided to type up a more general post informing you of some of the quality turns we've got coming up the non too distant future.

Ahem. Sorry about that.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 6th

Without further ado. This weekend, after much moaning from a few regular Dog goers, Total Victory return with Martin Battle's new lot The Brogue Kicks in tow.

Opening up the night like some cold handed gynecologist is Neil Jarvis. Neil usually flys solo (performs alone) but I've been warned he'll be rocking up with a full electric experience. Experience? Yes, experience. Below is a small video of his way. Touch play and feel susceptible.

The Brogue Kicks (wrestling reference) are basically a trimmed down Hector. Remember them? No? Well now's a chance to come down an enjoy the energy that these lot force out (like a poo - no not really).

Fancy a taste? An exciting taste? Check this hypermodern video.

Total Victory have been around the block. Like some wiley old slag. But on their block travels they changed the block into a cube. It is their way. So now, after the dust of the shape change has settled, our thoughts turn to less conventional roof raising activities. NOTE: Last Dog performance for a while (unit of time). Be down or be damned.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 13th

Very much so looking forward to hearing/seeing Ryland of GSL fame performing with his new band Paper Town. Northumbrian folk stylings. Warms the heart. Check this out.

Supporting will be much loved Boltonian duo Throwing Pandas. There might be another one of two on the bill and I'll be sure to let you know if this happens. Onward and upward all the way.

Right. I'm off to have my tea. I'll see you soon.
