FORWARDPLANNING: A Gig for Chris (Oct 19th/20th)

The closest weekend to mine and Chris’ birthday is the 19th and 20th October.
It’s about time we had a celebration. Two days, one electric – one acoustic.

Day one will include some of the plethora of bands Chris recorded and performances people he’s worked with.

Day two will be an acoustic free for all, a big sing along and a mammoth drink up.

A time to remember, a time to share stories and a time to "bask in the glory".

Just one more thing......

We NEED your pictures of Chris. Pictures of him and you (or whoever) out and about, band pictures, promo pictures – anything really.

Email them to: eeyore998@hotmail.com (cut off is the beginning of October)

Line up will be announced soon. I look forward to your attendance.

Saturday September 7th: Third Thumb, Boddickers, Riggots

Excitement abounds! Third Thumb were first flagged up by the Total Victory lot after they gigged with them in Chorley. "Interesting two piece. Really good use of effects. Finally. The only bad this was the guitarist moustache." High praise indeed.

“Using 2 drum kits, a multitude of loops, guitars, basses, keyboards, samplers and the odd vocal noise, their hypnotic live performances fuse gymnastic multitasking, mathy rhythms, heavy dynamics, improvisation and wonky electronica”

We wait to judge the moustache.

Joining TT are Boddickers.

"Boddickers are a three piece from Manchester but they sound like they come from space."

I geninely feel I can't add any more than that. I implore you to check out their EP - click here

Riggots run side by side with the equally awesome Brogue Kicks. Martin Battle and Rob Fairhurst really kick up a storm. A fearsome two-piece - https://soundcloud.com/#riggots

It's all free. DJs spinning the tunes after the bands until the next day.

You now have something to look forward to this weekend.
